SPECIAL BULLETIN
NATIONAL HEALTH SCARE
By Rick Joyner
When I read the brief on what was contained in the National Health Care bill that is now being presented before Congress, I could not believe I
was reading something that was actually being considered in the United States of America. This is not about money or government mismanagement—this is about
something far more diabolical than that. As incomprehensible as it may seem, this is about euthanasia, the power to determine who lives or dies in America.
Hitler and Stalin would have loved to have had a means such as this for dispatching the millions they killed—it would have made their job much easier,
and probably given them the ability to kill many more than they did. THIS BILL IS THAT SINISTER. This is not a joke—this is actually the nature of what
is being proposed in the National Health Care legislation, and it is the obvious reason why the Obama Administration wants to ram it through Congress before
anyone gets a chance to read it.
I have resolved to always be as generous as I can toward people with opposing views of my own. I do this because I believe it is the mandate of
I Corinthians 13 to always believe the best about people, rather than the worst. I know this opens me up to be misled by some, but I consider that a small
price to pay to not become cynical. I also do it because I think it is wise to always try and understand the position of my opponents—to be open to consider
their positions and not be too rigid or inflexible to change because we all “see in part,” and “know in part.” Because of this, I have been chided for
being too generous by giving those I do challenge grace by believing that they had not thought through the consequences of their proposals, or had other
good intentioned reasons for doing what they were doing. However, after reading the brief on this health care bill, I don’t see how anyone could not see
that there is profound evil and evil intent at work here. I just do not see any way to be any more generous with those who proposed this bill than that.
It is that bad.
This bill is obviously designed to put the authority to determine who lives and dies in America into the hands of government bureaucrats. As outrageous
as that seems, it is true—you can read it yourself. It even gives the government access to all of your accounts, and the authority to make withdrawals.
I know this is hard to believe, but you can read it yourself.
Do you want a government bureaucrat to determine if your mother or father can receive treatment, even in life and death cases? Would you want a government
bureaucrat to determine if your child, or you, could receive treatment, even when it means life or death? Think of the best experience that you ever had
working with a government bureaucrat, and then think about them having the power to make a potentially life or death choice for your child, your parents,
or for you. This is actually what is being proposed.
Add to that chilling thought the fact that this bureaucrat does not have to know one thing about medicine to be in that position. In fact, this bill proposes
letting the government define what quality health care is and impose that definition on health care workers. Nowhere does it even specify what training,
expertise, or qualifications this all-powerful government bureaucrat has to have to be placed in the position to make such ultimate decisions for the health,
well-being, and even the lives of Americans.
Am I being too hard on bureaucrats, or the Obama Administration’s intentions? Certainly there are many bureaucrats who are sincere and true public servants.
I agree that such are deserving of our appreciation and respect. The modern world could not exist without them. Think of the most noble and conscientious
there are. What kind of position would we be putting them in to have to go to work every day and decide who is going to get treatment, who is going to
have to go on a waiting list and for how long, and who are they going to have to just let die?
Who could live with such a job? There are many who could, who would just see it as paperwork, and those are the ones who would be in that position because
the truly noble ones could not endure it. Hitler found many who could dispatch thousands each day, and then go home and enjoy their own families at night.
There are people with that kind of moral disconnect. These jobs will be filled and by the very ones we would never want in such positions.
It is beyond anything I thought I would ever see in my lifetime that such a bill could ever be seriously considered in the U.S. Congress. This bill has
the potential for totalitarian control to be imposed on America to a degree that Hitler and Stalin could not have even imagined. With the technology available
now, totalitarian control can very quickly be imposed to a degree far beyond what was attained by either the Nazis or the Communists, and this bill has
provisions in it for just that. It mandates the sharing of all of your personal information, from just about every conceivable source, with the new health
care bureaucracy being set up to implement this national health care system. The penalties for trying to escape this web are serious. This would actually
make America into a national concentration camp, and we can be sure that ultimately it will be a national death camp. You do not have to take my word for
it—read it for yourself. Below I will include a brief on this bill so that you can look it up, chapter and verse.
I am a pastor and a watchman, and I therefore have a mandate to watch out for the people, and to sound the alarm when I see a threat. I have never seen
one like this before. Even so, I have prayed for restraint and calm as I address this, and do not want to exaggerate anything. In spite of this terrible
evil that is manifesting itself through the Obama Administration, I am resolved to pray for our government leaders, and I try to pray for the President
every day. My sincere hope is for a spiritual awakening for him and for those in every government position, and for the Lord to give them wisdom and help
for the most difficult task they have. However, with all due respect (and I mean this), what is coming out of the Obama Administration is evil, more evil
than anything I thought I would ever see in America. It is time to call it what it is.
In the early 1990s, myself and a few other prophetic friends were all shown separately, but at the same general time, that the same evil that gained access
to Germany in the 1930s was going to seek access to America. I have shared this often since then, and have made many trips to Germany to seek to understand
what happened there. Col. Eugene Bird became one of my dearest friends, and I spent many days with him listening to what he had learned about this, which
was considerable. Col. Bird was the U.S. Commandant of the Spandau Prison that held the Nazi war criminals, and ultimately became the one many considered
to be the foremost authority on Nazi Germany. Bird’s insight into how evil can gain entry into the human soul and into governments was remarkable, but
I always had trouble seeing a connection that would allow what happened there to actually happen in America. Bird often chastised me for this, warning
that it could easily happen in America (Col. Bird lived most of his life in Germany, where he became loved and esteemed by that nation, but he remained
a patriotic American to the end). Bird often
explained how the evil spirit of death that took over Germany gained entry through its health care system.
Now it is easy to see what he was talking about in what is being proposed by the Obama Administration.
In Germany, the National Socialists (Nazis) gradually desensitized the nation to death beginning with abortion. Then they quietly, seemingly with the most
noble intentions, rounded up the retarded and insane, claiming that the state could take much better care of them, but no one ever saw or heard from them
again. Then they did the same with the elderly. As word slipped out that they were being euthanized, it was explained that war made it necessary to eliminate
all of the “useless eaters” so that the troops could be fed, as well as those who worked for the war machine. By that time, the grip of control was too
strong for anyone to protest or they would also be sent to the camps. Life became cheaper and cheaper, people became more and more depraved, and millions
were slaughtered in the death camps.
America is following a parallel course. If Hitler had a tool such as the health care bill that is being proposed by Congress, along with the technology
of control now available, it would have made his task much easier and more effective, and probably resulted in many millions more having been easily murdered.
I have had Presidents, candidates, senators, and congressmen and congresswomen from both parties tell me they have read and appreciated my writings. I have
maintained for many years that an eagle needs both a left wing and a right wing to fly, and believe that there are excellent men and women of true conviction
in both parties. I realize that by writing with this tenor, I risk being considered an extremist, and maybe risk many relationships, but I cannot be concerned
about that. With such an extreme evil threatening our country, I would have a difficult time standing before the Lord on that great judgment day if I did
not speak up as boldly, as clearly, and as loudly as I can. Call me an alarmist and I will agree with you—I am going to do my best to sound the alarm against
evil in every way that I can, and I don’t think I have ever seen anything with the potential for evil like this national health care bill.
I pray that senators and congressmen from both parties who have courage and conviction will stand up against this terrible impending holocaust and stop
this bill. I expect that it will be hard for many who read and understand what this Democratic Administration has proposed not to refer to the Democratic
Party as the Death Party from now on, but let’s wait and see how the Democrats in Congress respond to this before condemning them, too. This bill is criminal—it
opens the door for a crime against humanity on a level that could easily surpass what happened in the last century. We must hold accountable all who have
written, proposed, and sided with this bill—and determine that with all the resources we are given, they will never be elected again for anything.
I pray that every Christian will wake up and rise up to take their stand against what is happening in our country now. If we do, we can stop this. If we
don’t, we will have to stand before the Judge having let this happen on our watch. We can expect persecution and even death for standing against such a
bold and obvious attack of the spirit of death, but no Christian should fear death, and no Christian will want to live in the world that is now taking
shape if we do not become the salt and light we are called to be.
We are in need of the courage and resolve of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings, who stood before the huge and terrible Balrog demon and declared—“YOU SHALL
NOT PASS!” The demon was stopped, and even though it was able to grab and drag Gandalf down with it, Gandalf returned with a new level of authority. It
does not matter what the consequences are for standing for truth, as Christians we must stand because it is our basic duty. As the first apostles demonstrated,
to be persecuted and to suffer shame for our God and His truth is one of the greatest honors. However, we must do it for more than honor—we must also do
it for our children and their children.
Last night on Fox News, a former Clinton Administration council to the President stated courageously that this bill was not just about money, it was about
euthanasia. The money part does not make any sense at all, but now that the real evil that is driving this can be clearly seen, we can understand that
the Administration really does not care about saving money or providing health care for everyone; rather it is about control. There is already talk about
this being about saving money by being able to euthanize the baby boomers so they will not have to be paid social security, or weigh down the health care
system with their needs. I’m not ready to go that far, but that is obviously why the Florida congressman declared that this bill was a death sentence for
the elderly. That is true.
The only commandment with a promise that it will go well with us, and that we may live long, is the commandment to honor our fathers and mothers. This commandment
is found in both the Old and New Testaments (see Ephesians 6:2-3). Killing them when they can no longer be productive, as Hitler and Stalin resolved to
do, is the most dishonorable thing we could ever do, and we can be sure will bring the opposite to the blessing promised. As you read the bill, and see
how excessively long they stay on the point of being able to determine what and if any care is given to the elderly, you will see it really is chilling.
It is obvious this is a primary purpose of those who wrote this bill. I know this sounds far-fetched, and I would not have believed it myself a few days
ago, but just read it for yourself.
The following is a brief outline of this bill put together by Mat Staver of the Freedom Foundation and Liberty Counsel (contact info is at the
end). The comments by the brief are Mat’s, except where I have noted my own by putting them in italics. The bold is also mine.
After reading, please do not wait to contact your representatives to protest this. If you don’t get through, keep calling, send emails, but do not stop
until you know your voice has been heard.

Now do you understand why we have to stand up today against this bill and declare with
all of the courageous souls who are sounding the alarm and let us say to the bill—
“YOU SHALL NOT PASS.”
The FOLLOWING is a DENIAL OF THE ABOVE by "THE ASSOCIATED PRESS." QUESTION: Can/does the "ASSOCIATED PRESS" DENIAL ACTUALLY DISPROOVE the above? If so, how?
TheDay.com - Don't Let Scare Tactics Kill Health Care Reform
The United States is closer than ever to undertaking comprehensive health care reform. It would be a shame to see partisan politics destroy the conensus
before it is reached.
A new CBS News/New York Times poll found that as many as 59 percent of Americans say the health care reform proposals - as they understand them - would
not help them directly. This suggests a grave misunderstanding that President Barack Obama must address if he wants a reform package to win approval.
The truth is that if the many problems with the health care system are not addressed it will directly affect most everyone, except perhaps the very rich
who never have to worry about access to good care.
If Congress cannot find a way to bring the growth in the cost of health care under control it will eventually bankrupt the system, as well as individuals.
And it remains unacceptable that tens of millions of Americans have no insurance and so no access to health care, except that provided by charitable clinics
or by turning to hospital emergency rooms. Hospitals must pass the expense of that high-cost ER care on to all of us through higher fees and higher premiums.
The current congressional debate is leading to important progress on formulating health care legislation that can gain broad support. So-called “Blue Dog”
fiscal conservative Democrats, along with Republicans who place a higher priority on serving the public than scoring a political victory over President
Obama, have played an important role in this process.
But it could all unravel. Congress will soon adjourn
for its summer recess. During that time the often baseless, but effective scare tactics used to discredit
health care reform could fatally undermine support. Allegations that the nation will adopt a European-style national health care plan and that the government
will be making medical and end-of-life decisions for patients are simply not true, but they are causing political damage.
Two recent national polls show support for health care reform eroding, but also indicate many citizens are misinformed.
Some conservatives warn of destroying the private insurance industry, but in fact the industry supports many of the reforms, including the need to provide
coverage to individuals with pre-existing illness and the need to stop charging higher premiums because of gender or health status.
Private insurers know they will get millions of new customers if Congress approves another facet of reform - a mandate that most Americans must have health
insurance. Many young and healthy Americans gamble that they don't need insurance, but everyone pays when they end up in hospitals without the ability
to pay.
Some fear creation of a government-run public health plan will destroy the private sector. But a compromise proposal is emerging that would instead utilize
a network of nonprofit cooperatives to provide competition to the private industry, a plan the industry finds more palatable.
Fiscal conservatives who want reform are pushing to shift more of the burden of paying for expanded care to those who benefit, including higher premiums
paid by those with lower incomes. This is a reasonable suggestion, but Congress cannot set premiums so high they become prohibitively expensive.
The Blue Dogs want to exempt businesses with payrolls less than $500,000 from having to provide coverage or, alternatively, pay to support the new system.
This will eliminate the threat that paying for care could endanger some businesses. Larger companies do have a responsibility to help. Companies with payrolls
of more than $750,000 would pay an 8 percent payroll penalty if they don't provide employee coverage, providing them an incentive to get a good deal with
the private sector or with one of the alternative nonprofits.
Plans circulating in Congress also contain many good ideas for placing a greater emphasis on prevention, with the potential for significant savings.
The public should not be cowed into inaction. America can do this. It has to.
Go figure!
No wonder the health care bill won't pass, most can't understand half of it's wording. lol
haha i had to laugh at your post tear drop i didnt really bother to read cuz it was forever
Typical right wing propaganda, baseless, using Nazi scare tactics and the original posters senseless wording. Now insurance people decide if we live or die. Healthcare is always rationed, the question is whether the rationing is done by a private company who needs to make profits or by government with, supposedly, no such incentives.
if the healthcare moves more towards Canada or European countries, which have very similar systems to what is proposed here (and, you may be surprised, are not Nazi and have no national concentration camps, honest) we'll see drastic increase in quality of healthcare. With this beautiful perfect system in America the country is not even in the top 10 countries in the world regarding quality of life, infant mortality etc, in fact countries with socialist healthcare, who spend less money than the U.S. government, are on that list. Everyone is free to purchase supplemental insurance from a private source. the big difference is the big drug companies, lawyers and insurance companies stop making ridiculous sums of money and people will finally be able to go to the E.R. without being worried their livelyhood will be taken away from them to pay for the visit. Of course the right wing crazed people will use the s word (socialist) and now I see they've even gone to using "evil" and "nazi", I guess they have some stocks in the big drug companies whose profits are at stake.
This is ridiculous, the bill is by no means perfect, but can people get their minds out of the scare tactic and nazi compairisons and try to figure out something reasonable that will improve coverage before we all go bankrupt?
If there is any evil it's making people believe that making a lot of money on their diseases is the right thing to do.
Finally I suggest you call your curent insurance company,if you arelucky enough to have one, and ask the person who answers what medical degrees they have, seeing as they determine what the insurance company covers and what they don´t, I have no doubt they all have doctor degrees with specializations in the field.
I'm NO EXPERT in the field of HEALTH, HEALTH-CARE, and so on, but what I WILL say is that if THIS is SUPPOSED to be ABSOLUTE, FULL ASSURENCE that SUCH BILL is ONLY FOR the ABSOLUTE GOOD for ALL, how is such claim SUBSTANTIATED?
if they are going for a more centralised, tax payer funded model where everyone can be assured of help regardless of fanancial standing, like we have in the UK, then i'm all for it. i would hate to be in a country where if i had an accident, my treatment would be dependant on my ability to pay.
wonder if the full text of this bill is out there to read, true it might be some boring reading but I would like to see the pages that were refferenced! If it isn't out there, well shame on you Mr. Obama
well, I do have it now and it's 1018 pages long. one wonders why a president would try and rush this in to action with it being so big and not wanting anyone to get a good look at it!
EXACTLY. Of COURSE, this isn't the ONLY concern matter that this administration arouses, I'm DEFINITELY sure--LATER, I hope to post some rather STUNNING (perhaps) REVELATION of how OBAMA and OPRAH (did I spell her last name right?) are linked--ABSOLUTELY NOT GOOD.
SPECIAL BULLETIN
National Health Scare, Part 2
By Rick Joyner
The Special Bulletin I recently posted, titled National Health Scare, made quite an impact. It turns out that the brief I had received from the
Liberty Council was the work of a reporter, and neither Matt Staver nor I had the chance to verify its content before it was posted. Matt Staver is preparing
a more thorough brief on the bill, and if there are places where things were stated incorrectly, it will be corrected.
I want to personally thank those who have read different sections of the bill and challenged some of the parts posted in this brief. In the heat
of trying to evaluate this bill, there was pressure being put on Congress to ram it through last week, which certainly raised the level of passion on all
sides. Now that there is more time, it will be thoroughly evaluated to be sure that what is presented as being in this bill is accurate. Or course, it
is likely that the ultimate bill will go through many changes before passing both chambers of Congress, but that makes the need for the public debate as
critical as ever.
Even so, regardless of what our position is on the bill, we do not want anything to be overstated, misstated, or exaggerated. Truth is our most valuable
commodity, and no cause justifies compromising or bending the truth. One thing almost everyone does agree on is that we are in a health care crisis, and
it does need to be addressed. However, it is far too big and important and has major consequences to rush. If ever there was a need for comprehensive challenging
of every aspect of a bill by true experts, this is it.
“Hurry Is the Devil”
All of this leads to another important point. Because of the way this bill was being rushed through Congress, everyone who was trying to evaluate
it was being rushed. Why the rush? The legendary psychiatrist and associate of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, once said, “Hurry is not of the devil—it is the
devil!” Now that I am back where I have Internet access, from what I have been able to personally read, the health care reform being proposed will profoundly
impact the lives of every single American. It also has the potential to radically change America, for the better or for the worse, than any other law in
our history. To not take the time to think this through, carefully weighing all of the consequences that the myriad of changes it will implement, is at
the very least irresponsibility. What is driving this rush?
If the mad rush to hurry this bill through caused some to misinterpret, misread, or misunderstand parts of this bill, maybe the rush also caused some who
were writing the bill to misstate what they were intending to say. For this reason, I could give them a pass for some of the more offensive elements in
it, if there is a willingness to slow down and give everyone time to truly consider the implications of this law. However, if the rush continues, I for
one will be convinced that there are some very foul things in the bill that are evil.
The Fundamentals
Those who are the best and most successful in every field are almost always those who do the fundamentals the best. Tiger Woods practices the fundamentals
of golf every day, hundreds of times a day. This brings up a very serious matter. Isn’t our President, and most of our congressmen and senators, lawyers?
Isn’t one of the first and most fundamental things taught in law school to never sign anything you haven’t read?
Shouldn’t this fundamental apply even far more to writing legislation, and then being willing to give everyone who will have to put their name on it by
voting for it the chance to carefully read and consider it? Should we allow anyone to keep representing us if they were to pass something of such magnitude
without reading it, evaluating it, and considering its long and short-term implications? Again, this bill is going to profoundly impact the lives of every
American. What is the rush?
As a pastor told me recently, if only 35 percent of what was in the Liberty Council’s brief is true, this will be one of the worst things to have
ever happened to our country. The fact that there is such a rush to pass this bill makes us think that they do not want anyone to know about some of what
is in it. Nothing else makes sense, so it is natural that we become suspicious. However, we do not want our suspicions to color our evaluation, which they
are very likely to do, especially adding the pressure of such a time crunch. We only want the truth and to deal with truth in the Spirit of truth.
However, if under the pressure of rushing, we accomplished getting Congress to insist on having time to read this bill, we may have saved the country from
a disaster. Even so, it is right to insist on the truth. This is very serious business with huge implications.
Hitler and Stalin
Now, could what I said in my previous Bulletin about how Hitler and Stalin would have loved to have had a bill like this been a bit of overstatement?
First, this statement was not made to ratchet up the rhetoric to drive people to extremes. I would never want to do that, and I stand by that statement.
I thought this before I read the brief on the bill that was sent to me. I also think that just about anyone who has studied how the death culture entered
the Nazi and communist systems would almost certainly agree with this.
The warnings about where the Nazi policies could lead were sounded for at least a decade, but almost no one listened, especially when things were getting
so much better economically for Germany. Those who gave the warnings were first persecuted, and then almost all of them were killed. Many of the repercussions
of what actually resulted from these policies and were implemented through the German health care system turned out to be far worse than anyone probably
considered. Until the war was over, many, if not most, Germans were unaware of what had actually gone on in the death camps because the delusion and deception
was so great.
I have been warning about the parallels in our own culture for nearly two decades now. I am more sure than ever that the same things which happened in Nazi
Germany, or under Stalin in the Soviet Union, could happen in the United States, or anywhere. Just listening to some of the debate about this health care
bill alarmed me more than ever.
Does that mean I think that Obama, or those in his administration, could actually be considering something like what happened in Nazi Germany or
under Stalin? No, I don’t. Neither do I think that either Hitler or Stalin did at this stage, but once you start down the wrong path, it never turns into
the right path. The only way to get on the right path is to go back to where you missed the turn.
I do think that Obama, and probably everyone in the administration, would be appalled at the thought of any kind of mass euthanasia being used
against our population or any population. I think they would be sincere, but I also think there is a serious disconnect here. In some ways, the culture
of death has already progressed in the U.S., far more than it did in Germany until the war broke out. What would happen here if conditions changed like
they did in Germany?
As that is an incendiary statement, that the culture of death is already worse in the U.S., it deserves justification. I think partial birth abortion
makes that very clear. Think about the process of pulling a baby halfway out of its mother, drilling a hole in its head, and sucking it’s brains out. What
kind of mother could allow such a thing to happen to her child? What kind of doctor could do such a thing? What kind of person could make it a priority
to allow such a thing as one of the first acts of their administration?
To answer that question, I think an otherwise very moral, well-inten-
tioned person could do these things if there is disconnect in their thinking.
We have some serious disconnects in the whole public debate, on the right side and the left. I don’t understand how those who are seeking to save every
little species on the planet (which I think is a noble cause), can fail to be pro-life, or how pro-life people are not devoted to saving the rest of the
species on the earth too. Likewise, I don’t know how pro-life people can be for the death penalty. There are many other areas where there at least seems
to be a major disconnect. This is either caused by a basic meltdown in integrity, or is the cause of the meltdown of integrity, which means “to be whole.”
Millions of Americans already feel that what has been done through abortion here is an “American holocaust.” There is merit to this. Most Americans
still have not thought through just what an abortion is, much less how it is performed, which includes many who have had them. Most have comforted themselves
by thinking the baby doesn’t feel anything, much less think anything. However, it has been proven that babies have very developed thoughts and feelings,
including fear, comfort, and can feel pain, very early in their development in the womb. As Ronald Reagan astutely noted, “I’ve noticed that everyone who
is for abortion has already been born.”
Almost everyone who searches out the facts about abortion and how it is performed, do become pro-life, which includes even the “Roe” in “Roe vs.
Wade,” the case that made abortion legal in America. The more one studies it, the more appalling it becomes. However, the Scriptures are also clear that
Satan cannot cast out Satan, and we cannot use evil to try to dispel evil. Every Christian should be vehemently against using any kind of physical violence
to stop this physical violence. The Word of God is clear that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal” (see II Corinthians 10:4 NKJV) or physical weapons,
but they are much greater than physical weapons. The truth is more powerful and will ultimately prevail.
If there were extremes, misstatements, or exaggerations in the brief we used to challenge the health care bill, I truly am sorry for that, and
we will correct them. I would not have used them if I thought there were, but because of the rush, there simply was not time to check them out. Now there
is, and we will. However, I am glad for the heightened sense of urgency that this has brought, and I think that this is something that cannot be exaggerated.
This is one of the most serious debates of our times. I think it has presented a chance to address some ultimate issues—and we may not get another chance
like this before things have gone too far.
In upcoming Special Bulletins, I am going to share in some detail what I absorbed over the years that I spent with Col. Bird, who likely was the
foremost authority on Nazi Germany for the last few years of his life. I was also able to talk to many others on both sides of the war, and some who saw
the progression of the culture of death in Germany from the beginning. Their insights and warnings are needed in this hour. The proverb has been proven
over and over that “those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.” It does not have to happen in America, but as another proverb states, “If you
do not change your direction, you will end up where you are headed.”
SPECIAL BULLETIN
National Health Scare, Part 3
By Rick Joyner
I want to especially thank all who have responded to these Special Bulletins about the National Health Care bill by writing and calling your representatives
in Congress, and by attending their “town hall” meetings and other gatherings. Your voice is being heard. However, the battle is far from won, and we cannot
stop until this attempt to open what could be one of the biggest gates of hell into our country is stopped. As the research comes in on what the proposed
national health care HR3200 bill says, the conclusion is that the brief we included in our first Special Bulletin about this bill was generally accurate,
even if some of it did not match up to what was said in some of the paragraphs noted. Likewise, those doing the more in-depth research have been shocked
and alarmed. Below is a link to the conclusions of The Southern Baptist Convention’s Committee on Ethics and Religious Liberty:
Southern Baptist Convention
index
Please read this. It gives a more comprehensive explanation than the first brief we sent out. We will be sending out more information as soon as it comes
in. Please pray for those who are doing this—anyone who wades through 1,000+ pages of legalese in this bill should be honored as a true Christian martyr.
We should deeply appreciate Mat Staver, the Liberty Council, Freedom Federation, and the Southern Baptist Convention for the work they are doing to try
to protect the liberty, and undoubtedly many lives of Americans.
From all of the ensuing outrage of those who have started to examine this bill, and seeing what has been proposed in it, we must not let that outrage
turn into bitterness. We must keep in mind that we do not war against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness, principalities, and
powers in high places. It is right that we hold people accountable for doing or promoting wickedness, but our ultimate goal should be their illumination
and salvation. We must not think of people as being the enemy. God loves every one of them and desires their salvation.
Standing firm for truth can help to wake up some who are deceived and bound by darkness, but as the Lord explained, “Satan cannot cast out Satan” (see
Mark 3:23). Our rage is not going to cast out deception or any other evil. In Matthew 12:28 Jesus said, “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God,
then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” We cannot win against the evil that is seeking to gain dominion over our country if we do not abide in the
Spirit of God.
Relentless Assault
You may have also seen on the news that when car dealers logged in to access the “Clunkers for Cash” program, they had to agree that the computer they
were using and all of its contents became government property. The outrage was so great that the government immediately backed down on this, but the fact
that this kind of thing is now coming from our government is a clear indication of what our government is now trying to do. It is about control. As I started
warning about the totalitarian spirit being manifested, I was chided for overreacting, but now you have to be pretty blind not to see it. It does not have
to win, but it will if we do not stand up. We must not forget that our government is built upon the foundation that it is “by the people, for the people,
and of the people.” We are the people, and we must take our authority and refuse to let the liberty be lost that so many paid such a high price for, and
for so long.
With our resolve, let us not compromise our stand or retreat before the enemies of our liberty, and let us also resolve to do so while abiding in the
Spirit of God. This could not be happening if the Lord did not allow it, and if He is allowing it, He will always lead us in His triumph. Basically, everything
that happens in this age, including at the end of the age, is “training for reigning” for His people. So, rather than just being overwhelmed or fearful
of the evil one, let us resolve to use these trials to grow in faith in our Lord and the knowledge that His truth will forever ultimately triumph. Regardless
of what happens now, His kingdom is going to come, and His will is going to be done, right here on earth as it is in heaven. Our struggle is to prepare
the way for His kingdom by “building a highway” as we are told in Isaiah 40. This highway to the kingdom is God’s higher-way.
As we see the enemy rising up with this kind of desperation, we can be encouraged by knowing that he is doing it because he knows he only has a short
time. The shorter the time, the more desperate we can expect him to become. The unfathomable acts of the federal government now seem to be motivated by
such desperation. As great as America has been, it is not the New Jerusalem. Even so, we are not a post-Christian nation; we are a pre-Christian nation.
Revival is coming to America, and the devil is desperate to preempt it.
Though we should gladly take our responsibility to be the salt and light we are called to be in this world, for the sake of our neighbors and our children,
who may not even appreciate it now, we must always keep our real hope in the coming King and His kingdom.
This hope is sure and will not disappoint us. It is hard to suppress outrage when we see some of the things our government, which is supposed to work
for us, is now trying to do to us. However, when you call your senator or congressman to protest, if you do it in the Spirit of God, it will have more
impact. We can be resolute, uncompromising, and also abiding in the peace of God.
In Scripture, the Lord uses the title “Lord of hosts,” which means “Lord of armies,” ten times more than all of His other titles combined. He is a
marshal God, a military leader. However, we should note that we are also told that it is “the God of peace who will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Romans
16:20). Don’t let anything steal your peace, but resolve that you are going to grow in the peace of God through all of this.
Always remember that if the demons are cast out by the Spirit of God, the kingdom of God comes. We see the nature of the Spirit of God in Galatians
5:22-23, “ but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there
is no law.”
Think about that, “against such things there is no law.” It is encouraging to see so many Christians waking up now and resolving to stand against the
great darkness that is rising. We must stand in the Spirit of God, and if we do, there is no law that can prevail against us.
Because patience is a fruit of the Spirit, we can be sure that the impatience of those who are trying to ram these laws through before anyone even
has a chance to read them cannot be motivated by the Spirit of God. However, our impatience with them is not going to cast out their impatience. Can we
learn to react fast and yet with peace, with patience ruling our spirit, and refusing to let fear, impatience, or any other evil drive us? We must. That
is basic Christianity.
I have much more to say about all of these things, and I think you are going to find them interesting, illuminating, and at times undoubtedly shocking.
Even so, we must keep in mind that most of the people we are dealing with are obviously not Christians, and we should not expect them to be acting from
a Christian worldview. If you do not have hope in God, then it is understandable that your ultimate hope will be in the government. When the government
is used to supplant God, it will be perverted, which is basically what is happening. The greatest thing that we can do for such people is to maintain peace
and hope in our lives. This peace is so strikingly different from the fears and hopelessness that are rising in the world that those
who are now driven
by fear and darkness will start to see and know where our peace and hope comes from.
Never forget that it is the Father’s heart that those who may now be in the grip of the enemy, become our brothers and sisters in Him. Getting this
terrible law defeated will be a great victory, but an even greater one would be the winning over of those who proposed such a thing. If government is done
right, the laws are for the people, and if we are doing the work of the kingdom of God, our ultimate goal will always be to save the people. The greatest
victories are saving those who are in the deepest darkness. If we do this right, people will be illuminated so that they can see the truth, and the truth
will set them free.
I do not want the government having access to my financial information or my private life. i want the choice of what i will do to my body. I like my individuality.
I'm all for socialised healthcare. The only thing I can say here is it's about time. That said, most countries that have this form of healthcare also have private institutions. In America now, if someone doesn't have the money for treatment, particularly if they have no insurance, they're out of options. This holds true for small illness as well as life-threatening situations. Now the one thing I don't like about current insurance is that, in most states, including New Jersey, it doesn't cover alternative healthcare such as naturopathy from licenced physicians cause most states don't allow licencing. So if I wanted to go to the doctor, I couldn't, unless I had the money or it was the gynachologist or eye doctor, due to discrimination on the part of healthcare providers. I can't even go to a holistic dentist who graduated from a mainstream college with my medicaid cause no one will accept it. I doubt the government would include that either and that's what upsets me about this bill. Still, for those who can't afford good-quality healthcare or who need to take synthetic medicine to stay alive and in good health, this bill is a milestone. Many people, especially seniors and the unemployed, can't afford their medications or regular doctor's visits so either their conditions worsen or aren't treated adequately, which is a major concern. Those who have emergencies may be rushed off to hospitals but their treatment, especially if uninsured, is generally horrible compared to those with money and insurance. I actually read three cases of that in my anthropology textbook in college. Three people had heart attacks. One was poor, one was middleclass and one was from the upperclass and they each received a different reatment, ranging from terrible to okay to excellent.
Thank you wildebrew for pointing out the obvious. There's a big difference between Natsism etc and propsing socialised healthcare. I can't even believe this nonsense is being brought up. Come to think of it, Nazis promised a highway too and did it. So the next time they want to build a new street in your town, why not go and protest cause the Nazis did it. Oh yeah, and if you get a government-sponsored job, you must protest against that too. Hitler was a painter. So should all painters be persecuted? I could go on and on here but I think you get my point. They did alot of bad, obviously, but they did a few good things too. Let's let go of this already and focus on the here and the now and what's actually before us.
And since when does socialised healthcare equal euthanasia? Look at the Scandanavian countries, some of the best in the world in this regard. They don't kill the blind or the insane etc. Personally, if someone could never live a meaningful life, if they couldn't think because of severe mental retardation, or were in a coma for a reasonably long period of time (say a year), I couldn't see the reason for the government to support them or why they'd need to be here to suffer and to have their families watch them in that condition. That said, if they have the money, it should be their choice. I also think it's wrong to let babies be born with severe mental and physical limitations, ones so bad that either a. they couldn't think or b. they couldn't take care of themselves. While I'd never condone the government being able to euthanise someone, say on the grounds of age, sex, race or monitary wealth etc, I do also feel that people should have the right not just to a living will but also to legal euthanasia when defined in said will Example, I get into a car accident and am now a vegetable, or I have a terminal illness that leaves me in pain most of the time. In the first case, I'm not able to make decisions for myself, so a living will would be necessary. In the second, I could tell the doctors what I want. In both, I feel that medically-assisted euthanasia should be a viable option.
yay for social helthcare. the nhs might have its problems, but my gawd, i'd have that any day over nothing at all, which is what you get in the american system if you can't pay.
I will not get into politics, but i do not agree with euthanasia for any reason at all just as I do not believe in abortion for any reason because it is not my right to determine who lives or dies. I'm not God. I am so imperfect and so inadequate that I have no right to make such a major decision like that. Life is so precious, and it so saddens me that human life has been greatly devalued over the decades to the point that it is now disposable.
If a person is mentally retarded, then his life is just as precious as someone who is normal. As a matter of fact, mentally retarded people are the most endearing and inocent people. I've cared for some of them, and it is an experience I will never forget. they are so precious and so wonderful and can teach us so much. We can learn so much from them. To think of taking their life because they are not productive is sickening. it saddens me greatly to think that some feel that the only people who have a right to live are those who are productive. Gosh! Horrible! Like I said God is the only one who determines who lives or dies, not man.
For an inspirational story of a family that had a baby with severe disabilities check out www.sweetbabyjames.info This family is extraordinary. This will help some see how precious life is, even the lives of those who are feeble minded or severely disabled.
If the road to euthanasia is travelled down and someone is deemed unable to take care of themselves or be a productive member of society, who makes the judgment call? Besides the metally handicapped, people in chronic pain, etc, what's to say that blind ppl won't be ont he list?
Many people in society still beleive that we're unable to take care of ourselves and lead productive lives. Sad as it is to say, its still true in many's people's minds.
Its a slippery slope that we shouldn't go down.
There's clearly a difference between someone who's so disabled that they can't do anything for themselves and someone who's just blind, or deaf or in a wheelchair or even all three. I'm referring to mental ability here. In some cases, if the person is healthy, it should be left up to them to decide before hand. In others, it's up to the caretakers or the woman having the child if the tests show it early enough. Now if someone can't physically do much but can still communicate and think and wishes to remain alive, that's a different story. It's still a very sad situation but that's the person's choice. I'm talking about those with no brain ability or with very little.
Before I panic I wish to see more information; (IE the proposal itself). I've recently read something else on these boards, started to freek out, looked it up and discovered it was just a scare tactic; IE something presented to the public to cause panic. So, before anyone panics do research of your own is my recommendation...As far as the topics being debated; in my opinion abortion and uthanasia depends on the circumstances. For example, abortion, if I were going to die anyways I would abort, but I honestly can't think of any other reason. Euthanasia, if I were going to live the rest of my life in pain, unable to think or communicate I'd want the option (OPTION) to choose death. Anyways, there's my two cents.
Tiffanitsa,
I see where your coming from, but who's to make the judgment call?
God help us if its a government bureaucrat that knows nothing about you.
Tiffanitsa,
The government will not be deciding anything for me and my family. I hope to God that big brother does not try to stick his nosy nose into my business. You should read 1984. It's a good book, and it is a story written about such a thing. You could read it for free on www.readprint.com Our country is starting to become like the situation in that book.
If a person does not have mental ability, such as the mentally retarded, they still have a right to life. People with mental retardation can still smile. They can still be happy. They can still show fear. They can still have fun. It is selfish to end their lives because one does not want to deal with them. Even worse, that should not be something that the government decides. The government should have as little to do with our lives as possible.
And what about the Autistic? Some of those cannot think on their own. Should they die? If this country starts killing off people who cannot think or be productive, I'm out of here.
I'll tell you right now that if a friend of mine or a family member became mentally retarded, drooling everywhere or babbling to themselves and could not think to make decisions, I'd care for them and make sure they are happy. I'd never, ever, ever think of taking their lives. The only time I'd even condone ending a life is if there is a person who has been braindead with no hope of coming back, and all I'd have to do is pull a plug. It is nowhere the same as ending someone's life that is able to breathe, eat, and function to stay alive on their own without the help of life support. I personally do not want life support, and I've opted out of it on my medical directives. If my body cannot stay alive by itself, then that is it. And I do not want some government official deciding that for me, either.
ALTHOUGH we're facing this PROBABLE/POSSIBLE DELIMMA, this is DEFINITELY NEVER to say that we should IGNORE ANY/ALL CONCERN/CONCERNS about what's been posted in this topic, but what HOPEFULLY IS SAID, is that in the VERY ABSOLUTE MIDST of ALL OF THIS PERHAPS-NIGHTMARE-CAUSER, the ONLY ONE that CAN and DEFINITELY EMPOWER US to "RIDE the VERY STORM" of this WANNA-BE CHAOS. AVOIDANCE of this MIGHT NOT BE GUARANTEED, UNFORTUNATELY, but FORTUNATELY, if WE, INCLUDING MYSELF, since I'm VERY SURE that I'm DEFINITELY NEVER ABOVE "PUSHING the PANIC BUTTON, MYSELF," allow the LORD to just TOTALLY TAKE OUR EVER BEING COMPLETELY OVER, as HE fills our hearts and ABSOLUTELY ENCLOSE US, SUPER-SECURELY with the ONLY TRUE PEACE that ONLY HE, and NO OTHER, can EVER GIVE, NO STORM, WHATSOEVER, REGARDLESS OF ITS IMPACT, can NEVER, EVER, EVER, TAKE HIS ETERNALLY-COMFORTING PEACE AWAY from us, AT ALL!
SORRY ABOUT THAT IMMEDIATE-ABOVE POST'S INCOMPLETE SENTENCE--I JUST NOTICED IT, AFTER I ALREADY POSTED and was reading it.
